Driver’s Side Caliper, New Ink & Cool Whip…

Sometimes life catches you up before you can catch your breath.

What a wild ride these last couple days have been.

Thursday my driver’s side caliper decided it wanted to stick. Of course it had to happen on my special-needs travel day, so I had to cancel my clients and get my car fixed. Thankfully they got it fixed pretty quickly and I was still able to save two out of my three massage appointments. One of those massages was with someone I hadn’t seen in just over a year because, well… life happens. She’s actually my longest client to date. We’ve been together for over 11 years now and we’ve literally grown together over the years. Bonds like that are truly special.

Friday was tattoo day! My brother dropped his dog off around 10:45 or something like that, then I got up, did my Glow Getter, got my morning vlog done, and of course it was NAD day. We all know those are my favorite days. I took a shower and headed out the door.

If I could cry, tears would’ve been streaming down my face the way Fong brought this piece to life. I basically handed him an outline of my idea and he just ran with it. It turned out even better than I imagined. I seriously feel so damn blessed and lucky to have been able to sit in his chair and receive a masterpiece from him.

The tattoo took about six hours and I actually caught myself falling asleep three different times because I was so relaxed. At one point I looked at him and said, “I never sit still this long. I hope I’ve been a good client.” He smiled and told me I was actually more still than about 75% of the people he’s tattooed over the years. That honestly surprised me because I never would’ve guessed that.

This tattoo was never just about getting another tattoo. It was all about healing for me. I’m a lion born on the Lion’s Gate and if you know my story then you know exactly why the phoenix is rising from the flames around him.

By the time I got home I was exhausted. I made Evan and me dinner and we just relaxed until it was time to drop him off at work. Around 11:00 that night we were headed to his work and there was a T-bone accident at 42 and 52. If you know my story, then you know car accidents are a huge trauma trigger for me, so when I got back home there was no way I was sleeping. Instead I looked over at my brother’s dog and thought… dude, you stink. 😂 So around midnight I scheduled both dogs for baths and nail trims for Sunday.

Then 2:45 Saturday morning rolls around and Evan calls for me to come get him from work. I’ll be damned if there wasn’t another T-bone accident, this one at 42 and Pilot Knob. At that point my brain was spinning. Two T-bone accidents in less than four hours? My nervous system was definitely on high alert. Thankfully I made it safely to get Evan and the first thing he asked me was, “Where are the dogs?” I left them at home. Thank goodness I did because there was no way I wanted them jumping all over my fresh tattoo. We made it home safe, I washed my tattoo, put my Aquaphor on, crawled into bed, looked at the clock and it was just after 4:00 AM. I remember laying there thinking life has been moving so fast the last few days that I haven’t even had time to write a Weird Shit Blog, but after everything that’s happened I definitely had enough to write one. So I finally signed off and got some sleep.

Saturday morning I got up, did my Glow Getter, got my morning vlog done and officially got that posted. Then I realized I needed more Aquaphor for my tattoo, so I ran to Target. Seriously though… I think I’m walking around carrying some kind of magnetic torch lately because people just keep talking to me. 😂 First this random guy starts talking to me like we’re best friends because he’s making a Fourth of July cake for his friends and needed Cool Whip. Next thing I know we’re standing there talking about food. Then I get up to checkout and laugh because I tell the cashier, “I literally came here for Aquaphor.” About $250 later my fridge and freezer are completely full because apparently my ADHD brain kicked in. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Then the lady behind me looked at everything I bought and said, “I’m a total food junkie too. I would’ve done the exact same thing.” She wasn’t wrong. 😂 And of course I bought a bunch of fresh flowers because a new home needs fresh flowers.

I got home, took the dogs outside, made lunch with Evan and then sat down. I thought I was just going to relax for a few minutes, but somehow I ended up sitting there for almost three hours just looping. Not in a bad way either. My brain just started connecting dots over the last year and a half. I started thinking about how first I got off my ADHD medication, then I got off my rheumatoid arthritis medication, and somewhere along that journey I had also corrected my chronic migraines by getting Invisalign and fixing my jaw. Then I started thinking about how Glow Getter and NAD started changing the way I think more clearly and gave me more consistent energy, which naturally started changing the way I ate. I didn’t even realize it was happening at first, but I started making protein a priority without really thinking about it. Then my body actually started craving movement, and that’s when I started consistently taking classes at Life Time. I just kept connecting one thing after another, and before I knew it almost three hours had gone by.
