The Fire Horse Just Kicked Me in the Face: A Lunar New Year "Doozy"

Happy New Year! And I’m not talking about the Gregorian calendar. Today is February 17, 2026, the official start of the Lunar New Year, and we have officially entered the Year of the Fire Horse.

If you’re wondering why today feels like a fever dream, it’s because the Horse is about speed, independence, and a little bit of "I’ll do what I want" energy. Combine that with the Fire element, and you’ve got a cosmic recipe for a day that feels like a caffeinated rollercoaster. Basically, the universe is a Fire Horse today, and I’m just trying to stay in the saddle.

The Dyslexic Disco

I started my day at Life Time. My friend bailed (Horse energy: "I'll go solo!"), so I went alone. I have this rule: If I ain't sweating, I ain't satisfied. But here’s the thing—my dyslexia is a full-body experience. When the instructor says "Right!", my brain enters a loading screen. I’m over here doing a left side lunge while the rest of the class is on the right. I’m repairing muscle strength, but today, I was mostly repairing my dignity and playing catch up.

The Manicure Oracle

To ground myself, I went for a 12:15 nail appointment. I needed RED. It’s the color of luck, power, and "I’m in charge here." Then, things got truly weird. I sat with this amazing, elderly man. I’d never seen him before, but he looked up and read my entire life's blueprint. He told me I have an old soul and a smile that has seen trauma most people couldn't imagine. It took nearly two hours because he was so meticulous. The Horse wanted me to hurry, but the Universe forced me to sit still and be seen.

The Office Plot Twist

I sprinted to the office with five minutes to spare. Two clients messaged saying they might be sick... but then they showed up! Meanwhile, a third client vanished because human brains like to twist days and times into pretzels. Suddenly, my "busy" day became a "staring at the wall for an hour" session. But downtime is a gift of processing. This stillness is forcing me to refocus.

I’m sitting here with my flaming red nails, my trauma-aware smile, and a quiet office. Today was a hurdle-jumping, left-is-right, psychic-nail-tech kind of day. But honestly? I’m galloping into the Year of the Horse with my head held high.

Year of the Fire Horse, I see you. Let’s ride.
