Two Days No Spiral Grateful to be Back in the Driver

Two Days. No Spiral. Grateful to Be Back in the Driver’s Seat

Day One: The Mental Chess Match

Yesterday wasn’t just a day—it was a full-on mental chess match.

It started at home—my glow routine, non-negotiable.

From there—therapy.

Getting my mind right before stepping into everything I carry for everyone else.

Then straight into a special needs client—where presence matters more than anything you say. Then off to the spa, thinking I had a handle on how the day was going to go.

I did not.

I was working on two young boys when the oldest looks at his mom, dead serious, and says:

“Mom… you, Lynette, and your other friend should get married. You guys would make a great house.”

My heart didn’t just melt—it relocated.

And honestly… I’ve been alone since my fiancé passed in 2018, and now it feels like once a week someone at the spa is trying to marry me off.

Maybe my king is preparing for me.

In the middle of everything… that was the moment that grounded me deeper than anything else could have.

A Friend Who Refused to Give Up

Now let’s talk about my car.

Because this wasn’t just a repair… this was a full breakdown → rebuild situation.

Before this point, most people wouldn’t even touch it. It’s a Range Rover.

He had already replaced the resistor, the blower motor…

took the entire dash apart and put it back together.

Then came the message:

“I don’t think I can put it back together.”

For a split second, everything in me wanted to react.

But I didn’t.

I paused.

I breathed.

I let my body catch up to my mind instead of letting my mind run the show.

And I responded calmly.

He was joking.

Not only did he finish it…

he replaced the brakes AND the battery…

all in one day.

After days of tearing it apart.

That hit.

Because it wasn’t just about the car.

Some people don’t give up on things that matter to them.

Day Two: The Glow + The Test

I woke up today ready to reset.

My glow routine—non-negotiable.

Evan got his B12.

I got my NAD+.

And just like that—

the phone starts.

Texts. DMs. Missed calls.

Everyone needing something at once.

And right on cue… life tested the new version of me.

When You Can Feel the Shift Before It’s Said

My Thursday morning special needs client started texting, and I could feel it right away—something was off.

By the time I got there, I already knew.

We only made it 20 minutes.

I didn’t push it. I didn’t try to fix it.

I just slowed down, asked for help, and listened.

I always meet him where he’s at.

That’s the work.

The Release

I took that energy to Life Time for a barre class.

And if you’ve ever done barre, you know.

There was a time I felt locked in my own body.

Today?

I kept up.

My hips opened.

The tension released.

And all day, my body has felt free and happy.

The Middle That No One Sees

Then it was back to real life.

Laundry at the spa.

Emails.

Returning texts.

Catching up on everything that came in while I was in sessions.

Running home to shower.

No glam. No filters.

Just moving.

The Transformation

Two-hour head spa.

This client has been coming every four weeks consistently.

And his hair?

Transforming.

Filling in.

Softer.

Healthier.

Watching that kind of progress never gets old.

Note to self: take the before picture. Always.

The Home Stretch

Finished the day with two more special needs clients.

Heart full. Body feels good.

Still moving.

Back in the Driver’s Seat

I’m heading out to pick up my car.

Heat fixed.

Brakes done.

Battery replaced.

Two days. A lot of moving pieces.

And today especially—

Calls. Messages. People pulling at me from every direction.

And I stayed grounded through all of it.

Now?

I’m getting back in my Range Rover…

and taking a victory lap.

Literally and figuratively
